This New York-based band is living proof that even sayings are sometimes wrong, because this song is as good as Fake Gold. And it’s good for real.

Tigercity is one of the very few Western bands, which seems to be much more acclaimed in Poland than its hometown. In this case it is a thing to be proud of.

Tigercity’s first release “Pretend Not To Love” is a marvelous set of pop songs that makes you suspicious, whether it’s not some forgotten classics compilation. Eighties pop, seventies funk, falsetto voice and contemporary production made this record the most overlooked EP of the year.

This year Tigercity has released their debut album – “Ancient Lover”. At this stage the band sounds mightier, using drums and guitars, an extent to which they have never reached before. Fortunately it hasn’t destroyed the melody line, which makes listening to songs such as “Fake Gold” a very pleasant experience.
